ABC - NOT televising its Prez Dem '08 forum today – with Stephanopoulos

Wed Feb 21, 2007 at 05:18:37 AM PDT

Your favorites and not-so-favorite candidates who seek your approval to be the Democratic nominee for Prez swarm today to Nevada, Carson City — and ABC will be there with its cameras rolling, at noon.

The moderator is George Stephanopoulos.  Yet ABC will not run the event on TV at noon or later today. You can expect a couple of clips to go by if you watch World News Tonight with Charlie Gibson. Don't blink, or you'll miss it.

Who's attending?

A lot of candidates will be there. Vilsack, Richardson, Dodd, Biden, Edwards, Clinton.  For whatever reason, Obama won't be there.

The setup is not tet-a-tet, 1 candidate addressing all the others. Instead, each goes one on one with George.

The 2 sponsors are the public service union AFSCME, the largest unit of the AFL-CIO and the Nevada Democratic Party (whose leader, the son of Sen. Harry Reid) has joined the HRC campaign.

This would be a great chance for exposure of candidates who haven't gotten all the media attention. Does ABC prefer not to rock the boat of the frontrunners?  What producers are behind that decision? It wouldn't include producer Chris Vlasto now, would it? [He's the one who took Paula Jones out to a celebratory dinner, and promoted stories about Howard Dean's limo driver.]
